2. SAFETY & SURVEILLANCE:

Helios International School is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all students, staff, and visitors. In line with this commitment, the school policy outlines the guidelines and procedures for ensuring safety and implementing surveillance measures on school premises.

We prioritize the safety and security of all students entrusted to our care. Our campus is equipped with comprehensive surveillance measures, including CCTV cameras strategically placed in common areas, ensuring continuous monitoring by our dedicated security team.

Key Features:

CCTV Surveillance:

  • Our campus is under constant surveillance with CCTV cameras covering common areas.
  • Trained security personnel monitor the CCTV feeds round-the-clock to ensure a safe environment.

Identification Protocol:

  • All students and staff are required to carry identification cards at all times.
  • Visitors must register at the security checkpoint and obtain visitor ID cards before entering the campus.

Visitor Management:

  • Visitors are accompanied by security personnel to their designated areas within the campus.
  • Strict protocols are in place to ensure that visitors are escorted to their intended destinations safely.

Classroom Monitoring:

  • Teachers maintain vigilant supervision over their classes at all times.
  • Housekeeping staff and other support personnel are available during break times to ensure a secure environment.

Patrolling and Assistance:

  • Regular patrols of common areas and washrooms are conducted during break times and dispersal.
  • Housekeeping staff and teachers accompany young students to washrooms and infirmary providing additional support and supervision.

Trained Security Personnel:

  • Our security team includes trained personnel, including female guards, dedicated to ensuring the safety of all students throughout the day.
  • They are equipped to respond promptly to any security concerns or emergencies.

3. Anti Bullying Policy:

Helios International School is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students. Bullying in any form is unacceptable and will not be tolerated within our school community. This policy outlines our commitment to preventing and addressing bullying incidents in school.

Definition of Bullying:
Bullying is defined as any intentional, repeated, and harmful behaviour, whether physical, verbal, or psychological, that occurs between students and results in a power imbalance. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Physical : hitting, kicking, pushing, punching or any use of violence.
  • Verbal : Name calling, teasing, insulting, sarcasm, writing unkind notes, spreading rumours, threats etc.
  • Emotional : Being unfriendly, excluding, pressurizing, taking or hiding belongings etc.
  • Cyber bullying : All types of text messages, chat room misuse or any misuse of technology to cause harm to another.

Preventive Measures:

Awareness and Education:

  • Students, staff, and parents will be educated about the different forms of bullying and the impact it can have on individuals.
  • Workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns will be organized regularly to promote a culture of respect and empathy.

Positive School Climate:

  • Helios International School will foster a positive school climate where diversity is celebrated, and all students feel valued and respected.
  • Classroom activities, assemblies, and extracurricular programs will promote inclusivity, kindness, and empathy.

Reporting Mechanisms:

  • Students, staff, and parents will be encouraged to report any incidents of bullying promptly and confidentially.
  • Multiple reporting channels, including anonymous reporting options, will be provided to ensure accessibility for all stakeholders.

Support Systems:

  • Counselling and support services will be available to students who have been bullied or witnessed bullying incidents.
  • Peer support groups and mentorship programs will be established to provide additional support and guidance to students.

Collaboration with Community:

  • Helios International School will collaborate with parents, local authorities, and community organizations to address bullying effectively.
  • Joint initiatives and partnerships will be established to promote anti-bullying efforts beyond the school environment.

Response and Investigation:
In case any bullying incident is reported, a fair investigation will be conducted by the school authorities. Depending on the gravity of the misconduct any of the actions below may be initiated:

  • Oral or written warning
  • Suspension from attending classes
  • Suspension from school for a specified period
  • Imposition of a fine
  • In the rarest of rare case, a bully may also be asked to take a transfer.

4. Internal Complaint Committee (ICC):

To safeguard the interests of all the women employees working in the school campus, PICT Model School has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) as per the provisions of The Sexual Harassment of Woman at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 on 27th May 2017. The committee conducts awareness programmes for all its employees and ensures a safe and healthy work environment for all its employees. Complaint Boxes are placed strategically and checked regularly by the Committee members to address the complaints, if any.

Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Committee :
In line with our commitment to the well-being of our students, Helios International School established the POCSO Committee under the auspices of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012, on August 22, 2017. The Committee is dedicated to safeguarding our students from the challenges they may encounter during their crucial formative years in school. It spearheads age-appropriate initiatives aimed at raising awareness about sexual exploitation and ensuring that all students understand their rights and responsibilities towards themselves.
Strategically placed Complaint Boxes are routinely monitored by Committee members to address any grievances or concerns raised by students.
Through its array of awareness campaigns and programs, the Committee endeavours to uphold the principles of dignity and respect for all students. In summary, the POCSO Committee at Helios International School is steadfast in its commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every student is valued and protected from harm.
